Meals

Meals will be provided at Great Lakes FrightFest, however we ask that you help out by bringing both a dish to pass for the pot luck dinner as well as additional food supplies that will be used to help feed everyone (See the registration form or email us at KK@GreatLakesFrightFest.com for information on how to do this).
We will provide:
Coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, hot coco, OJ, plates, bowls, napkins, plastic silverware, styrofoam cups, condiments
What to bring:
Your beverages, snacks, munchies, a Dish To Pass for the pot luck dinner and canned goods for the food drive!

Registration
- Please register at the registration tent to
receive your GLFF wrist band (one per person) and "goody
bag" (one per family) this allows us to keep an accurate
head count of who attend. New this year
will be a designated "Can Good" drop off tent. Where
at the time you drop off your can goods you will receive a 2nd
wrist band for your and your family's entrance into the haunted
house(s) |

Welcoming Announcements -
There is going to be an instructional class on
performing the "Thriller"
dance so that you can be one of the "cool" zombies with
rhythm. Exact time to be announced.

Projective
Illusions - Video projection is one of the latest, high
tech ways to WOW your patrons. These
illusions can add a realistic looking effect that can't be achieved
any other way. They can be used as a prop in and of themselves
or they can be entertainment and fun for your audience. Jim will
explore some of the many basic ways to set up different illusions
using video projection as well as show and demonstrate some of
the varieties of videos on the market today and how they can be
adapted for your haunt. |

Corpsification - Demo - Throughout Saturday Robert
with be corpsifying our beloved Bucky. During this time he will
be show the proper techniques of how to turn your bucky into a
corpse of rotting flesh as well as answer any question that your
may have about the process. |

Insurance - Cary, from Kemner-Iott
Agency will be discussing various scenarios of unfortunate things
that could happen in or at your "home haunt" that might
not necessarily be cover by your home owners insurance. Followed
up by an open Question and Answer period. |

Molds,
Molds, Molds -
Molds come in a variety of kinds, there are specific uses for
each kind. Also, some casting materials have specific mold needs.
This session will help you learn the differences and what the
pros and cons of each mold type so you can get the most out of
your molds for Halloween. |

Photographing
Your Haunt (One on One with Your Camera) - Work Shop -
So you tried taking those pictures
of your haunt and they didn't come out the way you wanted. You
put it into auto mode and the flash fired or you got a blurry
shot. Well now you can learn those "scary" settings
know as manual mode. Bring your camera and maunual (if you still
have it) and Brandon will help you figure out how to get great
shots of your haunt with YOUR camera. Class limited to 15 people

Casting - Bob discuss and demonstrate
how to create multiple copies of a unique piece using silicone
molds and polyurethane casting resin. |

Grave
Leerer - Make n' Take - Make a moving prop to
take home for you’re haunt! Join Jim in making a frame
and mechanism for your creep to leer out from behind a tombstone.
This project will protrude a creep, of your choice, out and
above the top of the tombstone and will bow from side to side
as if it was watching someone walk by. You will get a kit, directions
and assistance to put together this motor driven prop. The focus
will be on the mechanism that creates the movement. You can
choose how you want the “creep” part to look. Jim
will have limited plastic (blucky) skeletons for you to add
as your creep. They will be optional and extra cost (1st to

Kitty
Litter Fog Chiller - Randy
will demonstrate how to take a standard 40 lb Kitty Litter pail
and turn it into a fog chiller. He will discuss the proper use
and even the capability of "stacking" which allow you
to use more than one cooler at a time. |

Zombie
Crawler - Toby will discuss
and demonstrate his remote Zombie Crawler. With details on some
of the intricacies and pitfalls of building this awesome interactive
prop. |

Thrower - Bacon, the head pyrotechnician for Detroit's
own Theatre Bizarre will demonstrate the basic parts it takes
to build a bodasious flame thrower as well safety tips when using
pyrotechniques in your haunt |

Papier
Mache Pumpkins- This will be a start to finish demonstration
on how to construct two different armature styles, application
of strip mache, sculpting with papier clays and painting techniques.
Hopefully the demonstration will provide you with enough information
to make you want to add papier mache to your prop building arsenal. |

Faux Wood
from Foam - Stacey and Mary will demonstrate how to take
pink foam board and turn it into a piece of wood...well at least
ti looks like wood. They will take you though the steps from carving
a pattern into the foam with a hotknife or wood burner then painting
your work to look just like the real thing. |

Fun
with Foam - Hands on - Make n' Take - A hands on
introduction on using two-part hard foam. Cost: $5.25/ person

This will cover the cost of the supplies and will allow you to
take home a actual casting that you made. A skull, arm, hand etc...
Demo of this AWESOME product will include a brief mold
overview and casting with foam followed by a "fun with foam"
build session. Participants should consider a smock or old shirt
(just in case) and latex gloves if they wish to keep their girlie
hands clean. We will also provide some typical types of molds
including latex, plastic, ceramic and even sand. Also, participants
are encouraged to bring anything they would like to try to pour
foam into: plastic skull, latex mold, etc. |

Waste Zombie - Watch Goldie do a full start to finish demostation
of a "Decomposing toxic waste zombie" makeup. When she
is done her actor will like the zombies from "The Return

Carn-Evil
- Thirsty's (Dave Doxey) own twist on all the beloved midway
games at your local carnival. Yes, there will be prizes, but remember
this is a group of haunted minds so you never know what you will
win. Also there will be a "Dunk-A-Witch" dunk tank so
get that arm in shape. Again proceeds from the games will go to
St. Anne's Parish food bank and the Monroe County Humane Society.

The Great Annual "Fog
Off" - Bring you biggest and baddest fogger and/or
chiller and help us celebrate the kick off of the annual "Haunters
Against Hunger" Haunted Houses. This also helps eradicate
the mosquitoes by fogging out the entire campground. A sight to
be seen. Also Corey Minion will be showing off some of VEI's new
high output 20,000 and 35, 000 cfm foggers - fog your entire neighborhood. |

Against Hunger" Haunted Houses. This is our 9th Annual
event to raise non-perishables for both the St. Anne's Parish
food bank as well as the Monroe County Humane Society. |

Topped Stanchions - Bob will show how he makes his stanchions
for his post-and-cahin fence. The stanchions are made from ABS
pipe, screw hooks and cheap plastic skulls. |

Prop Building
on a Budget - Synyster will
demonstrate the step by step process of replicating skull heads
for almost next to nothing. Since there are many variables in
this process the end result is wonderful because you never end
up with any two exactly alike.

FCG - (Flying
Crank Armature) - This class will be an in depth look
into the world of the Flying Crank Ghost concept. Randy will discuss
items such as the structure to use, which motor, AC or DC, what
type of string and even the building of your ghost itself. He
will also be diving into the possibility of using this same concept
for other props as well. |

Cheap
and Easy Giant Spider Illusion - Sometimes simple is the
best way to go when it comes to freaking people out. The unseen
can be more terrifying at times. With this prop you will create
the illusion of a giant spider without having the complete thing,
which saves time, money and storage. |
